I Will Use My Gifts

Romans 12:6-8 In His grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

I Peter 4:10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.

Today I choose to use my  talents. God has placed a special anointing within me. He created me with His amazing hands and formed me the way He chose. He saw all of His creation and realized that my unique gift was needed. He chose me and He created me to fill a gap within His creation. I will use my talents today. I will not shrink in fear when called upon. Today I choose to use my gifts.

Pray: Thank you Lord for the special gifts that You have placed within me. Please forgive me for not using my gifts as I ought. Father, I truly need you to enable me to walk in the fullness of who You’ve created me to be. Amen.

Wake Up!

wakeup3Revelation 3:2 Wake up! Strengthen what little remains…

Psalm 17:15 …When I awake, I will see you face to face and be satisfied.

Today I choose to wake up. The desire to sleep in the midst of temptation can sometimes invade me. I will not sleep in the midst of the challenges that surround me. I will not tire as I walk upwards towards the height of my victory. I will not slumber as I am stretched in a dismal valley of disappointment. Today, with God’s help, I will strengthen what has died within me. I will be persistent in keeping my actions in line with God. I awake and I see His face today. Today I choose to wake up.

Pray: Lord God, thank you for waking me up. Father, please help me to stay awake when slumber tries to overcome my life. Fill me with Your wisdom as I live for You each day. Amen

I Choose Life

Acts 2:28 You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.

Deuteronomy 30:19 Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!

Today I choose to live. Death has a way of creeping into my reality, but I resist everything that is not life giving. As negativity tries its best to filter my daily walk, I choose to cling to what I know is true. Abundant life is mine as my decisions are filtered through His word. He supplies me with strength as I lean on Him for every breath. He is my life, thus I will live. I will not die as I serve my Master. I live today in the abundance of peace that assures me and will serve as a guide to keep me afloat. Today I choose to live.

Pray: Father, my life is yours. As I give my life to You, I am secure in knowing that I lose nothing. All that I am is Yours and I trust You to breathe life into me each moment of the day. I ask You Lord to please keep my mind full of your life giving truths. Please protect me from deathly thoughts, ideas and activities. Amen.

Walk in Truth

John 8:32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

II Corinthians 13:8 For we cannot oppose the truth, but must always stand for the truth.

Today I choose to believe the truth. The lies of my adversary roam around my being. Memories, media, relationships and a host of other venues lie to me each day. Lies are oftentimes extremely strong and convincing, but I will hold to the truth of my God. I believe what He says, even if everything tangible begs to differ. He is my truth. His word is written veracity of who He is. His character is reliable and He never changes. I will not refuse to obey the truth and live a life of wickedness. I will not trade the truth of God for a lie. I remain free as I dig deep into His truth and apply it to my life. Today I choose to believe the truth.

Pray: Father, gird me today with your truth. In the midst of this sinful world and generation, I desire to walk in Your truth. Please keep me alert to the lies of my enemy. Give me discernment as I face difficult decisions. Thank you Lord for keeping me in Your truth.

Forgiveness is Freedom

Luke17: 3-4 So watch yourselves! If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive. Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.

Luke 6:37b Forgive others, and you will be forgiven.

Today I choose to forgive.Forgiveness ushers in freedom. Forgiveness crushes the chains that bind me to the one who hurt me. Forgiveness makes me beautiful, a direct resemblance of my Father. I forgive today. Though the pain may remain, I choose to give forgiveness its course. I will not allow the negative emotions that oftentimes accompany hurtful memories rule me. I will yield my heart to God each time a painful remembrance crosses my mind. As vivid memories of disappointments plague my mind, I choose to allow forgiveness to rise above and to reign. I forgive and I am free. Eventually I will feel no hurt when I remember yesterday’s pain. Today I choose to forgive.

Pray: Father, I surrender the hurtful memories that come to my mind to You. Please set me free from the sting of those memories. I forgive those who have caused me pain. I bless those who have hurt me by releasing them to You. Please cleanse my heart if I must interact with them and lead me in Your everlasting way. Amen.

I Will Not Quit

Philippians 3:12b-14 But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

I Corinthians 9:24 Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!

Today I choose to keep going. The rough mountain trials of life can bring me to a place of exhaustion, but I move forward. Today I rely on the strength of my Master to carry me over the threshold of this current phase in my life. I choose to not focus on the stalling past. Today I will strain forward if I must, but I will not stay behind. I will strip off every weight that holds me back. Each sin, each earthly treasure that clings to my soul falls off me now as I move forward in Him. I will not back down as I run this race for my Savior, my God, my best friend. I am His champion as I continue. Today I will move with my God and I will go. Today I choose to keep going.

Pray: Father God, may I one day stand before you with the assurance that I fought the good fight and actually finished the race. Please give me the ability to remain faithful to you each day of my life. I rest in your power to walk me through difficulties today and I trust in your wisdom to carry me as I choose to not give up. Thank you Lord for helping me to keep going. Amen

I Will Not Fear

Romans 8:15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”

II Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, of love, and self-discipline.

Today I choose to let go of fear. Fear has its way of sneaking into my life, but I today I will stand alert to its tricks. I will not yield to fear’s false reality. Fear once had a grip on me that held me back. Since fear is relentless in its pursuit of me, I am unwavering in my resistance of it. Fear can’t have me because I fight knowing that my Savior protects me. Today I will speak when fear says to be silent. Today I will embrace when fear says to push away. Today I will pursue when fear says to give up. I will not surrender to the doubt that accompanies fear, nor to the delusion that it brings. As I resist fear, I see clearly through the eyes of my Savior and I walk in His light. Today I choose to let go of fear.

Pray: Lord God, I trust you to fill me with your presence today. I resist fear and I walk in you. I turn to you right now Father in repentance, please forgive me for allowing fear to have place in my life. Father, today I trust you to cast out all fear from operating in me. Help me to recognize fear. As I see it, give me the courage to walk away. Thank you Lord for setting me free from fear today. Amen.
